Technology & safety
Technology serves the mission
Turman Aviation builds operating solutions around mission requirements, regulatory environments and customer workflows. We work with specialized technology partners rather than defining every mission around one aircraft manufacturer.
Technology-independent by design
Selected for the operating requirement.
Aircraft, payloads, communications and mission systems are selected according to the operating requirement.
Selection factors can include
- Mission type
- Payload requirement
- Route or operating area
- Range and endurance needs
- Communications environment
- Sensor requirement
- Regulatory framework
- Support and maintainability
- Operating economics
Operating architecture
How missions are flown and supervised.
VTOL operating architecture
Vertical take-off and landing can support compact operating sites, while fixed-wing cruise can support efficient middle-mile or linear inspection missions. The deployed configuration is selected according to the mission and approved operating concept.
Remote operations & resilient connectivity
Command, telemetry and mission monitoring are designed around resilient communications appropriate to the route, operating area and jurisdiction. The exact communications architecture depends on the deployed configuration and local requirements.
Automatic flight with human oversight
Where appropriate, flight operations may use preset waypoint-based automation with remote monitoring and the ability for authorized operators to intervene. Turman does not use "fully autonomous" as a default description of its operations.
Operating sites
Operating sites are designed around the mission, aircraft configuration, ground operations, safety requirements and surrounding infrastructure.
Safety architecture
Safety is designed into each mission through operating procedures, flight monitoring, contingency planning, emergency response and mission-specific risk assessment.
Specific safety architecture depends on the deployed technology and approved operating concept.
BVLOS & route approval
Beyond-visual-line-of-sight operations are conducted only where authorized.
Each route or operating area is developed around airspace, ground risk, communications coverage and local aviation requirements.
Technology partners
Selected according to the mission.
Turman works with specialized aircraft, connectivity and mission-technology partners to assemble the appropriate operating solution.
Technology partners are selected according to the mission, not the other way around.
